FIRST PATTERN TROPICAL PITH HELMET. (Tropenhelm)
First pattern pith helmet constructed in a one piece olive crown.
The helmet has two shields with a Wehrmacht eagle and a national tri-color shield.
The interior of the helmet has a wide, light tan leather sweatband marked in black ink Ebr. date 1942 and size 59.
Interior crown is lined in light red cotton.
The helmet comes complete with a leather chinstrap.
Large size 59.

KREGSMARINE TROPICAL PITH HELMET (Tropenhelm)
This is a well used Kriegsmarine tropical pith helmet. The helmet is made of formed cork, and is covered in a ribbed, tan/khaki cotton twill. The helmet features a six panel, vertically seamed, tan/khaki cotton twill crown. The all around visor is shorter at the front and consists of a formed cork core with a two piece tan/khaki cotton twill covering with vertical stitched seams at each side. The edge of the visor is trimmed with stitched on brown leather. The helmet has two stamped metal shields with the gold national eagle to the left side and the national tricolor shield to the right side; they are unbordered which is correct for the KM. There are no extra holes, and the insignia is original to the helmet. The entire exterior, with the exception of the leather trim and shields, has been daubed with a white coating, possibly chalked. The bottom edge of the visor is lined in green cotton as is the interior crown. The interior of the helmet has a tan leather sweatband, stitched to a pressed cardboard liner band which is attached to the helmet by six prongs.
The underside of the sweatband is marked by the maker C. Pose, dated 1941, and size 56. The obverse has an inked owner's monogram. The helmet comes complete with its original brown leather chinstrap.

FRENCH BLUE TROPICAL PITH HELMET
This is a scarce French-made blue tropical pith helmet.
Some of these were captured and issued to the Luftwaffe. It is made of formed cork, has a four-panelled top and is covered in blue-grey cotton.
The interior is lined with the same blue cotton, and features a brown artificial leather sweatband with size sticker 4/55.
The helmet is complete and appears unworn, yet has been adorned with Luftwaffe helmet emblems, likely post-war.
The brown synthetic leather chinstrap has one repair.

SECOND PATTERN TROPICAL PITH HELMET (Tropenhelm)
Second pattern pith helmet constructed in a one piece, seamless formed, olive-drab felt crown with a horizontal band stitched at the rear center and covered by a vertical strip of felt mounted on a formed cork base.
The top center of the crown has a raised, removable, felt covered circular alloy knob with three semi-circular, cut-out ventilation holes.
The helmet features an all around extended visor which is somewhat shorter at the front and is constructed of one piece, seamless, formed, olive-drab felt and trimmed with stitched on grey/green leather.
The helmet has two stamped alloy shields with a national eagle to the left side and a national tri-color shield to the right side. The national eagle shield features a high relief, embossed, silver washed, Wehrmacht style eagle with down-swept wings, on a slightly textured, black painted, background field.
The national tri-color shield features three diagonally angled bars in the colors of red, white, and black on a slightly textured background field. The bottom edge of the visor brim is lined in teal green felt and the interior crown is lined in red felt.
The interior crown liner has three large and two smaller circular ventilation cut-outs. The interior of the helmet has a wide, light tan leather sweatband which is secure in place by six small extended prongs with corresponding metal cotter retaining pins.
Marked "59 1941" and JFS.
The interior crown has a natural matte grey alloy grommet under the exterior top crown knob. The helmet comes complete with a grey/green leather chinstrap with sliding magnetic sheet metal length adjustment buckle, a retaining clip and a quick release hook.

LUFTWAFFE TROPICAL PITH HELMET (Tropenhelm)
This is a nice tan Luftwaffe tropical pith helmet. The helmet is made of cork which is covered with an tan cotton twill fabric. The edging and chinstrap are natural tan leather. The top is capped with a removable ventilated fitting in matching tan twill. The eagle is the correct early type, and shows age and oxidation. The interior of the brim is lined in green cotton, while the crown is lined in orange. The tan leather sweatband is marked on the underside with its size - 57

PARADE LUFTWAFFE M35 DOUBLE DECAL HELMET. (Stahlhelm M35)
A fine example of an early steel Luftwaffe parade helmet.
It retains about 95% of its original, shiny blue-grey finish with a few small chips directly to the surface demonstrating this as the only finish present on the helmet.
The first pattern Luftwaffe decal is retained at about 95% and the national colors decal at 90%.
The interior of the helmet has a tan leather M31 liner with blue ink marked size 57.
The correct dome stamp is also present.
All the liner fingers and the original tie string are complete.
The reverse interior neck guard serial number is cover with paint and is hard to read.
The owners initials "Ha Ka" are written on the back of the neckguard.
Not visible manufacturers code and size.
Complete original. Great helmet!

LUFTWAFFE M40 SINGLE DECAL COMBAT HELMET. (Stahlhelm M40)
The Luftwaffe combat steel helmet retains about 95% of its original Luftwaffe blue/grey paint.
This helmet was originally painted in a smooth finish, which remains inside, and has been overpainted on the exterior with a combat rough finish. The left side of the helmet has a second pattern Luftwaffe eagle decal which is 100% complete.
The interior of the helmet has a tan leather M31 liner with blue ink marked size 53.
All the liner fingers and the original tie string are complete.
The reverse interior neck guard is serial number stamped 9070.
Interior left side has stamped manufacturers code and size "E.F.60" indicating manufacture by Emaillierwerk, AG Fulda and size 60.
Complete original 1942 dated chinstrap. Great helmet!
