RARE TROPICAL M-40 FIELD CAP
This is a very nice locally made DAK m40 cap.
It is constructed of a light weight smooth cotton material, and is lined in a loose weave broadcloth.
The stiffener inside the bill is made from a thin metal- it can be seen on either side where small holes have worn.
There are also some rust stains as seen in the pictures.
The eagle is a well engraved aluminum, possibly made from a water bottle or mess tin; it is sewn in place through three mounting holes.
The cockade has been repurposed from a pebbled tunic button, and is held in place by an S-ring which has caused a rust stain in the lining.

KREGSMARINE TROPICAL OFFICER'S M-41 FIELD CAP
This is a SUPER, salty officer-upgrade tropical Kriegsmarine tropical M41 field cap.
It started out life as a standard, green cotton lined issue EM's cap, and has been modified- the crown and front and back seams have been opened and re-sewn by machine.
The "upgrades" include the addition of gold metallic Russia braid around the crown seam, and replacement of the original insignia with a bullion officer's eagle and cockade.
Finally, a grosgrain ribbon has been installed as a sweatband.
The neatest thing about this cap is its field use- there is some staining on the crown, fraying of the braid, and overall wear and tear that scream "character"!
